Lachy McGregor
GENERAL MANAGER/ ACCREDITED FINANCE BROKER
Lachy is the director and principal broker of Swell Finance. He moved from Albany to Perth in 2017 to study Neuroscience at UWA and earned his Bachelor of Biomedical Science a few months before COVID-19 shut the world down! When it did, he pivoted out of the bar and waiting jobs he’d been working at uni and into the world of finance broking (naturally!)
Lachy is highly sociable and is passionate about helping people, and fostering strong relationships, which he gets to do every day in his job.
When he’s not broking, Lachy dabbles in theatre (rumours have it he and Ella met performing in a community theatre production of Grease!), martial arts (which he used to teach back in Albany), Bullriding (which his mother has strongly advised against) and music (including helping to co-ordinate the Albany International Folk ‘n’ Shanty Festival, which he highly recommends making a trip for!)
Ella Vervest
ADMINISTRATION ASSISTANT
Ella does the hard yards at Swell Finance (someone has to keep things in order!) Among loan processing and administration, Ella also runs the marketing and communications for the business, having earnt her Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design and Creative Advertising from Curtin University.
Outside of her work at Swell Finance, Ella runs Encore Creative, a marketing and design agency which focuses largely on live events – helping community focused and artistic organisations succeed.
When she’s not taking care of business, Ella can be found playing violin, performing in the theatre (see Lachy’s Bio!) and getting as much travel as she can fit into one lifetime!
